You can choose from a large selection of different leave types depending on the nature of the crew's leave.

Each leave type will impact a crew member's accrued leave balance differently, with variations in whether the crew member will accrued leave whilst on leave and whether leave will be deducted from the crew member when on leave. Variations in the rate of deduction will also apply.

You can select a leave type when you're scheduling leave by clicking on the "Type of Leave" selector on the schedule leave pop-up. You can also bring up the above link to the ‘Leave types’ list page.
